SMETA Forum 2024

Development organizations offering online learning programs are increasingly leveraging AI to enhance course creation and delivery.

From course design, editing, translation, and video production to learner management, tutoring, grading, moderating of discussion forums, and detailed reporting, AI is opening new possibilities for efficiency and personalization in e-learning. Although still in early stages, these AI-driven innovations hold significant promise for improving learner experiences at scale.

This forum will explore how AI tools implemented by various organizations measure up to initial expectations and reveal which areas of e-learning benefit most from AI integration.

Session Highlights

  • In the first session, the learning departments of several development organizations, including FAO, ITC-ILO, INTPA-EU, and the World Bank will share their experiences with AI. Learn how they are using AI in their learning programmes, the benefits and challenges they've encountered, and whether they plan to expand AI’s role in course development, delivery, and learner support.
  • In the second session, the SME Trade Academy will share insights from a research project where AI was used for course tutoring and student grading. With over 500 students from around the world volunteering to participate, the study yielded results that were not only revealing but also somewhat unexpected, offering valuable guidance on the future direction of AI in our programmes.
Save the date and join us for the second edition of the SME Trade Academy Forum—where the future of AI in e-learning takes centre stage!
